Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how DIActions (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use CIBOShare (“CIBOShare” or the “Service”). It applies to buyers, cooks, and visitors.

1. Information we collect

Account and profile

• Name, username, email address, city, phone number, password (stored hashed), and optional profile details you provide.
• Cook payout identifiers submitted to payment partners (for example Stripe or PayPal account details).

Orders and marketplace activity

• Cibos you publish or order, reservation details, messages between buyers and cooks, ratings, favorites, and viewed listings.
• Payment status, transaction references, and checkout session identifiers from Stripe, PayPal, or Interac flows.

Communications

• Email content and delivery metadata for account activation, password reset, order updates, and support.
• SMS content and delivery metadata for verification codes, order notifications, and—only if you opt in—marketing or promotional texts.

Technical data

• IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and cookies or similar technologies as described in our Cookies Policy.
• Approximate location derived from city or postal information you enter, and distance calculations used to show nearby cibos.

2. How we use information

We use personal information to:

• Create and secure your account, authenticate logins, and recover access.
• Operate the marketplace: list cibos, process orders, route messages, calculate distances, and display order history.
• Process payments and payouts through third-party payment processors.
• Send transactional emails and SMS about orders, security, and account activity.
• Provide customer support and investigate fraud, abuse, or safety reports.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. Consent and optional uses

Some uses require your consent beyond what is necessary to provide the Service:

• Profiling and personalization (optional): If you opt in at signup or in account settings, we may analyze your searches, orders, favorites, and browsing activity to recommend cibos, cooks, or categories and to improve relevance of search results. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting info@ciboshare.com.
• Marketing email (optional): If you opt in, we may send newsletters, promotions, and product updates. You can unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email.
• Marketing SMS (optional): If you opt in, we may send promotional text messages. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out of marketing SMS where supported. Transactional texts related to an active order or account security may still be sent when necessary to provide the Service.

At signup, required acceptance of our Terms, Privacy Policy, and Cookies Policy covers core processing needed to operate CIBOShare. Optional checkboxes control profiling and marketing uses.

4. Email and SMS in detail

Email

We send account activation links, password reset messages, order confirmations, cook notifications, and responses to support requests. Marketing email is sent only with opt-in consent.

SMS

We use SMS for phone verification during signup or checkout, order status updates, and cook/buyer coordination when enabled. Guest checkout phone numbers used only for one-time verification are not retained after the message is sent, where our systems support that practice. Marketing SMS requires separate opt-in.

5. How we share information

• Other users: Usernames, public listings, ratings, and order-related messages are visible to the parties involved in a transaction.
• Service providers: Hosting, email delivery, SMS gateways, payment processors (Stripe, PayPal), analytics, and security vendors process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards.
• Legal and safety: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect users, the public, or CIBOShare from fraud or harm.
• Business transfers: Information may transfer as part of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale with notice where required.

We do not sell your personal information.

6. Payment data

Card and bank details are handled directly by our payment partners. CIBOShare receives limited payment metadata such as last four digits, brand, transaction IDs, and payment status—not full card numbers.

7. Data retention

We keep account information while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for legal, tax, and dispute-resolution purposes. Order records may be retained longer where required for bookkeeping. Ephemeral verification data is deleted when no longer needed.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including hashed passwords, HTTPS, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Quebec and Canadian privacy laws may apply. Contact info@ciboshare.com to exercise your rights. We may verify your identity before responding.

10. Children

CIBOShare is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. International users

Data may be processed in Canada and in countries where our service providers operate. By using CIBOShare, you understand your information may be transferred to jurisdictions with different privacy laws.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes may be communicated by email or in-app notice.
